    San Diego P.D. Duty Handgun?

My daughter is applying for San Deigo P.D. Can anyone advise of what their issued duty weapon is and if they are allowed to carry their own personal owned handgun? If so, what personal handguns are authorized for duty carry? Thanks in advance for your assistance....

The current issued handgun is a Sig P229 in 9mm.
SDPD does allow Officers to carry their own personal weapon on duty. The list of approved guns is pretty long and includes 9mm, .40 cal, and .45 cal pistols.

One guy walks over to the black rifle area and starts gazing. An employee asked him if he knew what he wanted. The guy answered "Not sure......definitely something black.............and short...............and tactical."

"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him."
