I already passed their Written Test last year at the Archibald, Rancho Cucamonga testing center, I'm going to give them a call and figure out why they haven't contacted me for employment.

ehh....I am considering...I know I have only a few hours, but I don't want to go through an academy again. I will have a newborn soon and a one year old at home.....Not a good time to be shacked up with other people for a few months.

The Academy is in Galt.

It isn't a live in if you are close enough. If your in Amador your likely close enough.

The academy is 16 weeks.

One of our Calgunners and Vendors is an instructor at the academy.

What are the PT requriements? I can't run for S**t due to some medical issues. I can do the 500 yd run and obstacle courses but can't do much more than that.

I seriously hope your waiting to put an app in simply due to the PT requirements.

The agility test is very simple, you ride a bicycle for 3 minutes and they adjust the settings. Unless it has changed since 07.

The agility test looks easy, but what about the academy? That is my biggest concern. I have gotten two different bits of info. One that its a breeze and another that it requires a lot of running.

Its not like the CHP academy. My opinion , there was not enough running, oh well.....

In the mid 90's it was 2 miles a day on the run. I hear its really watered down now so who knows. I can ask some of the kids fresh from the academy for you.

2 miles a day is cake walk, i run 5 miles a day, monday through friday and rest saturday and sunday

As far as I've heard, This next academy has been postponed due to layoff legalities. You might want to verify on ccpoa.org Believe me, this pisses me off. We have 40 Officers from my institution alone retiring this year. The last thing we need now are layoffs. Stupid state government anyways. We suffer, the inmates get what they want. Huh, does'nt make much sense.

yeah the next academy has been shut down due to layoffs, and now everyone has to be put on an eligibility list.
