    Study recent court decisions?

I got hooked on retired DDA Phillips's Legal updates web site:

on court decisions and how it affects our rights. Do you spend a lot of time reading such things or are you provided summaries by your departments?

When reading many of these decisions I get a pain in the pit of my stomach.
I'm just so glad that I'm retired and no longer have to deal with this. I feel for those of you who still do.

The CA POST learning portal has all these great vids entitled "Case Law Today" They're about an hour long in about 6 short sections so you can come back and finish them when you have time. The CA POST learning portal also has CPT credits. The Search Warrant intro animation is pretty funny and cool.

        Johnny 22,

Of course, you can't just goto the police academy and not learn anything after that. The best officers are the ones who keep up on case law.
