Fairfield, CA Police - New Shooting Range

I read in the local paper that a new shooting range for Fairfield Police is opened. I can't find a link.

Has any LEO tried it out?

Is it open to the public?

    If I remeber it has:

    20 - 25yds
    100 yds all indoor

You might want to post this also in the Range, Shoots subforum. You might obtain more info and faster.

After speaking with a Fairfield PD Officer, he informed me that it is for LEO only.

I think it's visible from Highway 12 between Beck and Pennsylvania. There are always lots of cop cars in the parking lot.

Is it for Fairfield LEO's only...or do they let other bay area LEO's come play for free???

Article appeared on Fairfield Daily Republic, Sept 13, 2009.

Location: 1717 Rex Clift Lane, Fairfield, CA 94533

"The range isn't being used enough" Mraz said (City Councilman - retired police officer)

"It has classrooms, an armory, 20 lanes of 25-yard pistol ranges and 100-yard rifle range and a padded training room. The huge facility dominates the intersection of Clift land and Enterprise Drive."

Right side of satellite photo, upside down "h". Seems to be the 100-yard range.

From what I was told is that other LEOs do go there, but they "rent" the facilities for their use. I was also told that sometimes CHP and other LEO agencies use it. Beyond that, I am not sure.

****, I'd drive down there to use a free range. It's almost a better drive than going out into the boones to shoot my AR, and do some rapid fire on a legit range (with decent targets).

I'd be willing to call and ask.....especially if they want the range to get used!
