Streamlight SL20

Ok, I work graveyards and broke my last Streamlight car charger cord two nights ago. I don't need the charger sleeve, just the car carger cord that connects to the sleeve and then plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet.

While out on the CHP shooting this morning in Elk Grove, my SL20 died and I couldn't throw it on the charger so I realized, it'd be a good idea to ask for some help rather than rely on my Surefire G2Z all the time.

Anyone have an extra one they want to sell me and ship me like ASAP..most, quick and in a hurry?? Yes, I am still up and haven't been able to sleep yet. And yes I can go to ebay but I'd rather ask here than pay a crap load o money for one...

I'm sorry I can't help you as I still use my SL20 for home/other use.

I'm actually surprised someone else still uses that old flashlight. I recall when they first came out (1977 IIRC), I kidded my buddies at the jail for spending $80 on a flashlight. Well, next year the joke was on me because I bought one and had to spend $85.

It is not as black as it was, since I used it many times to remove glass shards on windows before entering a burglarized building, but it still works. I have the old style slide switch (replaced it twice).

Remember Kell-Lights? They were all the "rage" before Streamlights came on the scene.

I had a Kel light. When I arrived at the jail, I stopped using the plastic, 2 D cell the dept. issued and bought a 5 C cell Kel light. I used that until I bought the SL20. I think I may still have the Kel light somewhere around.

I can remember as a LASO Cadet having the staff come in and tell us to take the POS flashlight they had just issued to us, and stuff it as far back in our lockers as we could, and go out this weekend and buy oursevles a "Kill Light." We all showed up the next Monday with our new "Kill Lights." They were pretty good and sturdy for an incadescenet light. I have no idea where mine is.

+1000 ... Mine also looks like pretty rough for similar reasons. I also have the original design switch and replaced it once. The light still works as good as it did the day I bought it in 1980.

Do you mean you are still using the original battery. They sure made things better in the old days right.

Hah... you got me there.

It's on it's fourth battery, IIRC, and third bulb. I broke the first bulb about a year after I got it taking out the side window of a car That was a hard lesson learned as I hard to order a bulb and resorted to an issued four cell Kel light for a week and a half.

Great piece of equipment, it is stowed in my truck to this day and goes with me where ever I go.
