Gracie is some of the best training for LEO's available.
Quite a bit of my agency's self-defense training was based on Gracie techniques.

Hey I’m a GST level 2 instructor and currently working on my purple belt. I think BJJ is the absolute way for the modern day LEO.

GST is a great course but consistent training is what you want. As far as gyms go, any BJJ gym is better than no gym and will put you in a good spot against 99 percent of suspects. That said, if you can be picky, I’d elect for a gym that focuses more on self defense as opposed to scoring points. Why? I’ve seen it before when officers have put themselves in a position to be punched when they are used to sparring when striking, or at least the thought of striking, is not a factor.

Go to the gym that fits your schedule, where you can mesh and click with the people there, and make sure you enjoy it otherwise you won’t go. Don’t be afraid to try more than one gym as they usually offer an intro class or two. Meet the coaches, feel the vibe, and have some fun.
