Checking water bottles for alcohol - What PC

Years back we were walking in Pacific Beach and there were officers using an alcohol meter to check yettis, Gatorade bottles of people walking.

What is the PC to ask someone to take off the lid so they can test the container?

How is that “violating” someone’s 4th amendment rights, when they ask you to voluntarily consent? “May I” is a question, not an order. Try again son.

I also like the hardfast and probably perturbed “NO” response. Is it a hostile moment for you when interacting with the police?

It's a rhetorical question. Look it up

You sure make a lot of ASSumptions over a two letter word.

You must be having a bad Sunday. Things aren't going your way?

GFC!! And keep walking! Unless you give them a reason to detain you, as in illegal activity or maybe underage intoxication, no reason to be bothered

Had a young officer at Hermosa beach once tell me he needed to check my tumbler which at the time was in a cup holder on my bicycle handle bars. It was a 4th of July weekend and I guess they were checking for alcohol down near pier ave and The Strand. I just said "Nope" and navigated around them and didn't look back.

See what I mean? Hostile even on a thread. Case closed.
