Protect your home & watch over what's important from your phone with video doorbells, security cameras, alarms, smart lighting & more.

Ring has quite a number of products which should work together.
I don't recall Ring offering its own wifi hub, but research that further and some hub brands go away or come out with new & different products.

I also like the SimpliSafe brand of products.
Shop award-winning home security systems from SimpliSafe. Professional monitoring, protection from break-ins and hazards, and no contracts.

Both can either be user-installed or various technicians/installers can be contracted to do the work for you.

Ring, as you may already know, comes with a neighborhood forum, which is nice to monitor/read/contribute, while I don't think SimpliSafe has.

Personally, I think I've got a bad Ring "Chime" unit as sound is no longer coming out of the unit, but it used to work. I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times without success. Apparently, it's a common problem.

One's home wifi is also "key" to these systems, whether Xfinity, AT&T, or other (and will depend on one's physical address as to what's available). Keeping up with which companies are available and better or worse is a challenge.

These internet companies are also getting into the home security business. Again, things are always changing. Then there are dedicated alarm companies, such as Bay Alarm, again depending on one's actual physical address:
Bay Alarm offers commercial and residential security services monitored by local experts. Services include fire and burglar alarms, video monitoring, and access control.

Some of these companies are "regional". What's available in the San Francisco Bay Area or Los Angeles area won't be available in Modoc, Imperial, Riverside, or Plumas counties, for example.

I?m on a multi gated property, I have a hard wired 16 camera 4k AmCrest system.
It is layered with Ring door bell, gate bell, and motion detecting flood lights around the house, all followed up with a house alarmed with motion and glass break detection, with private 24/7 monitored with armed guard service with a 3-5 min response.

I've got nest and wyze cameras inside and out. I really love the wyze notifications, more so than nest.

However, nest has a better interface for reviewing past events.

I have simplisafe on 2 different properties and am super happy with that setup. I did try the wyze alarm system and returned it within 30 days. Horrible UI and lackluster response to active alarms.

Simplisafe will call me within 30-45 seconds of the alarm tripping. Police dispatch is usually within 3 mins for one of my houses.

I do have my wifi router on a back up power supply in case someone cuts the power to the house. Simplisafe also alerts when the power is out or wifi is down and will switch to battery backup and cellular data to monitor.

Get a big dog that likes you and scares the crap out of everyone else.

No one will interview your dog after it mauls a home intruder.

I have Nest for my house and Ring at my moms. Ring has faster mobile notifications while Nest is much slower. Usually about a 10-15 second delay for Nest. Not happy about that. And my wifi router is under 8? from the doorbell.

Nest UI is much better than Ring. Also, Ring can possibly share your video with outside sources (police etc) due to their neighborhood network.

Also, nighttime video quality leaves a lot to be desired.

If you?re really picky, get dedicated system.

We’ve got Ring alarm and a few Ring cameras. Want to get a hardwired HD camera system soon.

Also have a GSD as Gizmo alluded to. She’s got a pretty good bark and has a little bit of bite training in her.

Neighbors who see anyone coming up the dead end road. Gate. 2 GSD and 2 Rottweilers, and a hardwired CCTV system with IR illumination. Never had a issue.

+1 on the 2GSD/2Rottweilers and hardwired CCTV plus hardwired Alarm system.

WiFi cameras and alarms are simple to defeat/jam. You need hardwired cameras, and look for alarms which also transmit through cell tower technology besides internet or phone connections.

Look at Ubiquiti the NVR and cameras.

They don?t rely on the cloud for storage but do for notifications. If your on your local network you access the NVR directly and of your away from home you access your NVR through the ubiquity site.

If you have good internet service at home, I would look at the BLINK camera system. Works great for me and allows you to add cameras as you find more areas that need coverage.

I put a google Nest camera in a birdhouse this weekend, even added a solar panel. Got the birdhouse at Hobby Lobby for $13.00.
