What is your experience with non-Glock mag extensions?

Personally I am at the spot where none of the the stuff I've used for G21s or G17s is 100% reliable like the OEM Glock magazines.

    G17 Glock makes a +2 base plate which I find 100% reliable (19X).

I have heard Glock makes one for the G21...but have not seen one in the wild For the G21 Lone Wolf makes a +2, Taran and Arredondo make a +4, and all three in my use have failed...dropped to the floor and they grenade. One I have heard actually came apart during use!

So for the stuff that matters/life and death, I just use the OEM mags.

I've used the Taran baseplate on G22 and G17 with no problems for several years.

The G17s Tarans never came apart when dropped on a hard surface or loading issues?

Never, in my experience of a couple dozen people using them over several years. Although now that I've reread what you wrote, I meant the +0 base plate that gives better grip, not an extension. I haven't used the extensions on anything but a G43.

I have seen some of the ones we use come apart when they were put on a little crooked, but that's the same as oem.

Ive got some really old +2 extensions on my G27, and I shot the heck out of that in IDPA, dropping them on the ground but not concrete, never had any issue with feeding or having them come loose.

They've been on so long I don't even remember who made them except that they arent Glock, I know that for certain.

ive had the scherer ones on my glock 21 for like 25 years so far so good i bought one of the aluminum ones for g17 off ebay but the spring doesnt fit the follower right i only have one follower where the spring kind of goes inside instead of locking in a hole and i guess its still the wrong one maybe i need the orange follower

for glock 21 the mag holds 15 but can only be inserted with the slide back

I believe they are Pearce. Thanks. Very tough to get installed, but solid as can be.

Non-LE here. The other day, I was at lunch at noticed a few Sheriff's Deputies with standard issue Glocks with TTI baseplates. Both partners had TTI baseplates on all of their mags. Thought that was pretty cool..

I believe the 9-mm extensions are more reliable than the 45ACP ones. I assume those sharing good TTI experiences are 9-mm.
