As far as I know, they can't have hi caps. There is no provision for it in the Code that I have come across.

As long as they are legally owned (purchased before ban) then there is no problem carrying them. I believe your licensed security company can even legally buy them and give them to you or even sell them to you. I don't remember the specific code but do a search and you will find the original discussion regarding security companies ability to legally buy and sell hi caps to their employees. Stay safe.

I had a case when one security officer had a gun fight with a gang member who had a Tec9 with 30+ round mag. The officer had a USP 45 with 12 round mag. The officer ended up killing the bad guy. I examined his gun, found out his pistol was okay per factory spec, and I replaced all his ammo with my duty ammo (12+1). He had mixed ammo, and I wanted him to have good ammo. Mag capacity was not my concern.

There is nothing in the penal code which exempts "security guards" from the law on over ten round magazines. If they were owned before the ban, yes they would be allowed. If they obtained them after the ban they would be in violation.

There's no exemption in 12020 PC for security guards.

Armored car companies may purchase them and lend them to their guards for work.
