Their Policy and Procedure Manual is on line, as required by law. It is 5655 pages long and loads very slow. Chapter 1.07.31 describes firearms qualifications, if you have a few hours to wait for it to come up. It should answer your question.

Thanks to Post2's link, above, I didn't see an actual course of fire specified/listed.

For the OP or anybody else curious:
In my department (to be unnamed) the actual courses of fire (CoF) could change, probably expected to change, at each semiannual qualification. The course of fire might even stay unchanged for the entire year.

I don't believe any policy mandated a change to the CoF, but changes seemed to be made at least each year for the carried duty handgun. The rifle, shotgun, less-lethal, and backup handgun CoFs didn't seem to change as often.

I imagine Rangemaster and staff would suggest a qualification, and then have the executive person/staff sign-off on the course of fire for all to use.

Contra Costa County might operate similarly.

The qualification weren't particularly difficult, but do expect for something new or minor changes from the prior qualification, not to say anybody bothers to memorize the actual CoF other than the Rangermasters.

The Department I retired from has several courses. #1 is the traditional PPC like course where you shoot for your Master, Expert, Sharpshooter or Marksman Badge. #2 - #4 various. #5 & #6 are low light.

In 1982 Pistol Qualification was tough but now it is very easy. Like the Retirees and BUG shoot is a five round course shot twice for a total of ten rounds.

I’m one of my dept’s range instructors and the qual varies from one to the next. For the most part, they contain the same basic principles of shooting a handful of rounds from various distances (i.e. 5 from 3yds, 5 from 7yds, 5 from 10yds, etc.).

There used to be a time where we would change the loads in mags, have us perform emergency/tac reloads, set rifles up with some kind of stoppage, clear it, then shoot, etc. Whether it was too much whining or setting all of our new firearms training courses to meet AOT and PSP standards, we stopped and made it easier.
