    Cops & Doughnuts

This news story was just too good for me to pass up.
Associated Press July 4, 2009. Sounds like a sweet deal?

"Cops & Doughnuts" is more than a punchline. It's now a bakery in Michigan, owned by nine full-time employees of the Clare Police Department.

The newly renamed bakery opened Wednesday, offering doughnuts, cookies, muffins, brownies and bread. It also has mugs and T-shirts bearing the "Cops & Doughnuts, 100 Percent Cop-Owned" logo, and phrases including"You Have the Right to Remain Glazed" and "Handcuffs and Cream Puffs."
Officer Al White says the officers were concerned when the Clare City Bakery's owners decided to throw in the towel. The 113-year-old bakery would have become the sixth empty storefront in Clare's three-block downtown.

The officers were on hand for the grand reopening but have hired a manager and will employ local students as staff.

      Check out their website!

      Click!

I bet they'll end up selling more Cops & Doughnuts t-shirts and coffee mugs than actual donuts.

Just what we need, something that supports stereotypes

Whereas we real cops know that in reality, nothing is further from the truth when people perpetuate the myth that police professionals enjoy donuts. In fact, we prefer tea and bran muffins over coffee and donuts.

The fact that donut shops seldom are victims of robberies is merely coincidental.

Forget the donuts. The best things at the donut shops were the girls who frequented them or worked at some shops. Known to us as "donut Dollies".

              Good times!!!!!

Just make sure you don't eat those prior to a urine test or they will test positive for heroin. I actually don't know if they have rectified the test, but there were a couple of guys I knew that had eaten a muffin with that poppy seeds and it came back that way. Boy, they were put thru the ringer, but it was a false positive.

Good for them. I hope the business does well. I do think I'm in for 2 of the "Right to Remain Glazed" and a large cup.
