I'm not LE. I think the basic premise of the safe handgun roster is absolute bull Schiff. If a firearm actually is unsafe, it shouldn't be sold at all. And why on gods green earth would you make an exemption to sell unsafe handguns to LE?

Whatever you can do to comply with the law and obtain the firearms you want, I'm all for it.

Sorry didn't mean to cause offense.

But it's important to note that Abramski was not "buying and flipping" off roster guns. He did his crime in the state of Virginia, making California's roster irrelevant. His violation involved only a single firearm that he purchased for his uncle. There was no pattern of "buying and flipping."

It's pretty well established that if a LEO (and not one of the special category LEO's affected by recent changes in the law) purchase an off-roster weapon with the intent of personal use, and who subsequently no longer desire it, can sell the weapon to another.

What Abramski makes clear is that a weapon cannot be purchased with the intent of transferring to another.

Not LEO, but I do have a BNIB Hellcat.
Do you have any off roster items you might be willing to trade?
Gen 5 Glocks, P320s, CZs, HKs, etc.

I totally agree with you. Any gun is unsafe if not handled properly. It is not the gun but the person that makes it unsafe.

Idk, 30years and retired probably making more than enough compared to most of us.

And it’s sounds like straw purchase

Ahahahaha no… you’re a peon now pay peon prices.

I don’t really wanna hep you…but I love Jsd supply so much that I’ll mention they are working on an 80% fcu for sig 365 similar to the one they make for p320. I believe it’s design is completed and being released in small batches. Although if it’s anything like the p320 build, it’ll definitely be on the more intermediate skill side of building.

30 years on the job, a recent retiree and can't afford a gun at market value? Something isn't adding up here.

A lot of retirees from my agency have stayed on as reserve members. It not only allows the ability to purchase off-roster weapons, it also keeps POST credentials active in the event you want to return to full time service. A former Division Chief in my department did that, and then came back to full-time service as an Undersheriff.

A LEO in that position can be appointed, as a reserve, under PC 830.1 or 830.2 and have full-time peace officer powers.
