Ditto. I appreciate the sentiment and when that happens I leave the difference as an extra tip.

It used to be that LE didn't pay well and these discounts really came in handy. It still doesn't the farther east you go (Atlanta PD starts at $49k, the city's average salary is $67k) but most CA LE jobs pay enough that it isn't an issue. The gesture is always appreciated though.

I don't see any sign of them stating those views before this incident. They are in San Fran, probably not very many places without their mind set. I'd pack a lunch from home.
