I've carried my Glock 41 MOS at work (law enforcement) for a few months now after trading it for a Glock 21. I love it! It still has the standard sights on it, but I had it stippled, was forced by dept to put a weapon-mounted light on it, and in a month or so will have an SRO mounted as well with Dawson Precision Fiber Optic co-witnessed sights. I feel like I'm shooting better with it, probably because of the longer barrel.

What duty holster are you running with that G41MOS w weapon light?

Never carried a 41 on duty but have owned one for five years, got a few thousand rounds through it. Like it it much more then the G21 I use to own, the slimmer slide on the 41 is perfect. I also own a M&P 45 it’s a gen1 with an APEX trigger, great shooter. Of course your department would not allow an aftermarket trigger, but the Gen 2 triggers are good to go. I’m thinking either one would serve you well. I don’t know if S&W makes a long slide version of the M&P 45, but in a standard length gun. I would take the M&P over a G21 and it’s close but the 41 over the M&P.

Looks like Safariland is making the 6395RDS, 7365RDS and 7395RDS for the G41MOS/RMR/X300U.

I like my S&W M&P45 M2.0. It is more comfortable to shoot.

Its accuracy is excellent, its recoil is minimal, its capacity is more than adequate and its reliability is superb. I am not sure full-sized pistols get much better, especially those issued to officers

I have a Glock 41, Gen 4. It is a great pistol. Typical Glock reliability. It requires no aftermarket parts whatsoever to work properly. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

What is the 41 going to accomplish that the 21 won't?

I carried a G21 for 7 years and was more than happy to ditch it for a Gen5 G-17

The 21s biggest problem is the super thick slide, the 41 corrects that with a slide more closely resembling the 17/22 slide as far as thickness goes. Some really like the added length of the slide also, I was never a fan of the 21 but really like the 41. I carried the 22 on duty, would not have wanted the 21 but would have no problem with a 41.

That makes sense. I wasn't aware of the thinner slide. Is the grip as well?

The thin slide .45’s are the 41 and the 30S and 36 unless they added more. 10mm are still fat butter cubes… which makes the 40 MOS seem yuge. What a tank.

I have a G41, HK USP Expert .45 and like those equally and they are great guns.

Only other .45's are a RIA Match and Jericho 941's, G30S. I would find a G41 or Expert but YMMV. They have pretty fat grips and the RIA and Jerichos have slim grips.

G21's might be easier to find.
