Couple that with the hundreds of experienced officers/deputies who are retiring, lateraling, or resigning. Great times.

The LADA has no say in how LAPD/LASO assign their personnel. Just more scat talk from a criminal himself. The satisfaction of a job well done is to be the one who has done it

I'd been a supervisor in food production most of my working career. One place I was at half of the crew were black, the other half Mexican. I'm a Filipino from Oakland, WAS a Raider fan, raised in Freekmont by a pack of Vatos, so I'm not completely racist. I've always worked side by side with my crew. That's how you build trust. At one job in Stockton, I was working with an older black guy (50), who's mom sent him up there from Compton 25 years ago, so he wouldn't end up dead. I new he was ex-gang-banger. I happened to ask him what would happen with the gangs in LA if the "BIG" earthquake hit? He said the unwritten rule was for most major gangs is to attack the PD substations, to tie up LEO, so the rest could go wilding. He said he wouldn't want to be there. PAXYou need a crew

Think Gascon is Closing the DA Prosecutor Gang Unit, not LAPD Unit
"The Hardcore Gangs unit - responsible for prosecuting the most "heinous and complex gang-related crimes in the county" - is currently juggling 700 active cases, according to FoxLA's Bill Melugin. What's more, "the LA DA Office's Major Narcotics unit had a meeting with upper management at 3pm and were informed that their unit will be cut by as much as half.""
In other words, the LAPD can make gang arrests, but the DA prosecutors who know how to work complex gang cases won't be around anymore . . .
Catch and release is my guess . . . like Portland Antifa prosecutions.

Here’s the best part. No gang unit = no gang charges/ enhancements (186 charges). No gang charges = no gang prosecutions. No gang prosecutions = GasCON saying gang crimes and gang membership have been reduced. It will be the same thing for the narcs unit. I’m seeing OC gangsters saying they’d rather put in their work just over the county line because they know there’s way less chance of getting dinged.Comment

Exactly! In a years time the media will be lauding him for his reforms as there's been a HUGE reduction in gangs, weapons, and narcotics arrests! Just look at the slow kids in charge of Baltimore. Here’s the best part. No gang unit = no gang charges/ enhancements (186 charges). No gang charges = no gang prosecutions. No gang prosecutions = GasCON saying gang crimes and gang membership have been reduced. It will be the same thing for the narcs unit. I’m seeing OC gangsters saying they’d rather put in their work just over the county line because they know there’s way less chance of getting dinged.
"In the 12 months since she ordered scaled-back enforcement, violent crime is down 20 percent and property crime has declined 36 percent, she said. Homicides inched down, though Baltimore still has one of the highest homicide rates among cities nationwide. Researchers at Johns Hopkins University found sharp reductions in calls to police complaining about drugs and prostitution, she said.
"Clearly, the data suggest there is no public safety value in prosecuting low-level offenses,” Mosby said at a news conference.'
So as you can see, clearly, this is the way to reduce crime; decriminalize everything and stop responding, the people will stop callng!
