    G19 Gen5 / Sig P365 XL

I am basically a Glock guy for the last 27 years. Carry a Gen5 G19 off duty now. ( carried Gen2/3/4 before) .How would You compare Gen5 G19 to Sig P365 XL? PS. Reliability is always my number ONE consideration. With my body size , I easily carry G19 comfortably concealed, I like the idea 17, 24 and 33rd factory magazines being readily available and function 100% in Glock 19. Give me good reasons to look at P365 XL for off duty . Thank You.

I have only shot a 365xl. I do own a regular 365 though. Between the xl and the g19 though is a world of difference. even the XL with the longer length is shorter and thinner than the g19. I also tend to like the trigger out of the box on the 365 series of guns. 13 rounds is standard on the xl and its easier to conceal and feels great in hand. Plus if you hate it, you can sell it and but a g43 or g48.

Since you're a Glock guy, have you considered the G43X or G48? Same capacity as the G19 (with a Shield Arms mag) and carry very comfortably due to how slim they are. They come in MOS versions as well if red dots are your thing.
      My buyer/seller feedback.

I have 43, 43X and 48. Just don't see a reason NOT to carry G19. I must say that I was impressed after holding P365 XL.

You can't really compare the two. Although both can be concealed carried, they serve two different roles IMHO. Unless you're specifically looking for something smaller than your 19 to carry and/ or just want a new toy, I wouldn't look at the XL. Not to mention Glock has released the 43X. Glock familiarity and 15 rounds makes more sense than the XL.

Nor is it possible with the P365 XL that OP is considering. Just seemed like OP liked Glocks which was why I suggested the slimline series since it has the same form factor.

I have both and love the 365xl for carry. Much slimmer and lighter than the G19. Excellent trigger for an inexpensive pistol too. I highly recommend getting one.

                  For me, P365 (not XL) > G43X > G43 > G26

I've got all four, and the P365 with 12 round mags is my go-to. The 43x with Shield arms 15 round mags is a real close second, and I haven't completely decided yet, but the Sig comes with much better sights and I haven't talked myself in to upgrading the 43x sights yet, so the Sig wins out. The 19(or 26), in my mind, has zero advantage over the 43x, when you can carry 15 rounds reliably in a 43x.

Consider light options, before deciding which one to go with.

Oh, most definitely. I think what this boils down to is OP is wanting us to help him justify purchasing another gun and how he can best explain it to the Mrs.

Lol. No . It's not about Mrs. Lol. It's more about carrying the same platform on and off duty for over 27 years. ALREADY having a bunch of Glocks in 9mm. But after shooting a P365 XL, I decided to give it a try anyway. Sig did a great job in my opinion. I will just have to see how it will hold up.

Haha, I get it. I only have Glocks too. I'll probably only have a few that aren't Glocks like when I go get a CZ P10C, Ruger LCR, etc., but I mostly only have Glock too. Sigs are great guns, no doubt about it.

I just like P365 XL . Especially after I got to shoot one. I still much rather carry a Gen5 ( or any generation) G19 . But if I want to carry something smaller, I think P365 XL is really nice.

Love the P365XL and that is what my wife carries. Great gun. Used to carry a G48 with Shield Arms S15 but have gone back to primarily carrying a Glock 19
