Father (Navy pilot)& Uncle (USMC pilot) both in Pacific '43-'45. Both scrounged jungle for rifles & handguns, US Gov't & Japanese. They cleaned & repaired them & brought them home. They have both now passed away and have left several of these to me & cousins. My question is the legality of possessing guns with "US Gov't" stamped on them. None are full auto and otherwise legal.

I know of a Sheriff who for many years carried a USGI Govt Colt 1911 that his Grandpa appropriated at war's end. I am the caretaker for it nowComment
