    Daughter being cyber stalked

My daughter is 26 and has received text messages from someone claiming to be her friend, but its not her friend. They knew lots of her personal information about her and the city she lives in. They were asking her to meet her friend that was in trouble and needing her help.

Her bank accounts were also compromised recently.

She called the local PD and they came and took a report. She has a gun and basic hand gun training. Tonight she is staying with a friend. What advice can the Calgun LEO's give us to maximize her personal safety.

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, she lives by herself about 400 miles away from us but is making arrangements at work to come to our home for a while.

I would add a second line to your cell account and give that phone to her to call family/close friends. Like XDJYo said she has to disconnect from her phone.
Could be some weirdo where she bought her cell phone from that is obsessed with her, hence knowing stuff about her, and having bank account info.

Hope things turn out OK for her.

Should she get a new number or just a new phone?

She can always get a Google voice number and have that forwarded to her current cell phone number.

Do the texts/calls come from the same number each time? If so you can look it up

Tell her to get off her social media accounts. This is a classic "friend in trouble" set up. Soon they will be asking for $ to be sent via Western Union.

Always set location at near by city, fake birthdays and google voice number.

You can get a lot of information about most people online with a simple google search. Have your daughter do a google search on herself and see if she can have her personal information removed from search engines. You have to do it often, as I had my information removed from search engines but a few months later it was back. Have her change her social media accounts to nicknames (don’t use her real name). Have her change her phone number. She might need to move. The stalker could be anyone a co-worker, a friend, a friend of a friend, an acquaintance, etc... Make sure that she has protection at all times stun gun, pepper spray, a 9mm if she can CCW.

Most likely this is a fishing expedition using open access info from the internet. It may or may not be connected to her bank account problems or some other database hack. Steps to take:

                          *New phone number.
*Lock down the privacy settings on all social media accounts. Probably should be at the most restrictive level (i.e. "friends"). Don't forget places like Linkedin.
                          *Get of any dating sites
*Put fraud/ID theft warnings on her info with the credit reporting companies (TransUnion, Equifax and Experian) as well as with her banks.
*Use a commercial service like Life Lock to monitor for additional ID theft activity
*Use a commercial service like Delete Me to remove most of her presence from data brokers and internet search results.

For the physical aspect, stick to the basics like awareness/avoidance, travel with a known group, etc

Not LEO and all the above are good ideas. First, IDENTIFY and LOCATE the stalker. This is imperative. Hire whatever cyber detective can accomplish this.

Fake your daughters death. At the funeral, the stalker will show himself. Call in a favor from the Calguns SSZS winner. Pay for his ammo a hotel and flight.

All kidding aside, I sincerely hope you get this resolved quickly. I can't imagine how nerve wracking it must be to have her far away from you like this.
