SoCal FFLs That'll Register Stripped Lowers as Pistol?

I'm looking to have a stripped AR lower registered into a pistol. Needless to say, finding an FFL that'll do that for me as an exempt person has been difficult. I've gotten excuses saying the lower model has to have "pistol" in it and that you flat out cant register lowers as pistols anymore. I've also tried 2A Zone, but they'll only do it if I buy a lower from them . Is there any FFls in the SoCal area that could register stripped lowers as pistols?

Why not just buy it from them?

I get that but...why not just buy it from them? A hundred dollar receiver purchased from the local shop to support them, make the whole thing easier, waste far less time, and not have to deal with the hassle or expense of having one brought in from outside the store. It makes no sense.

I actually don't. When I do find the lower I want that was never registered as a rifle, I'd want that said lower to be registered as a pistol so I can build a pistol. I'm looking for a FFL that'll do that.

You can't register a lower as a pistol unless you obtain it through ppt or purchase a California compliant pistol or California exempt pistol. Then you can do what you want, but there is the grey area to watch out for.

i saw your other post and looks like you're exempt. i personally wouldn't feel comfortable doing it. Call 2A Zone in Rancho, he might help you.

Wrong forum LEOS clueless. Try ffl forum. AR pistol lowers very expensive. Must be ar pistol lower not rifle lower. If you manage to get a stripped pistol lower be sure it is registered as semi auto or you can only assemble single shot.
