Rest In Peace retired Rialto Police Sergeant Paul Wing.
Paul passed away two days ago. Many of the older officers will remember Paul from an off duty shooting when he was with Compton PD. While Paul was in a bank a suspect entered and announced a robbery. Paul’s intention was to be a witness. The suspect threatened to kill the tellers and pointed his gun at them. Paul shot the suspect before Paul’s gun jammed. The suspect shot at Paul before Paul disarmed him. The suspect ran out of the bank and died in the parking lot. Paul was not hit. Several officer survival videos were made of this incident.
Paul was great person, a great mentor to younger officers, a great peer and a great friend. Prayers to Paul’s family
