We have seen results that our current issued 9mm ammo has better real life ballistic performance than the .45acp we issue. Hard to belive but absolutely true. I'm forbidden from going into the details of those results but I have seen the performance of our 9mm and .45acp ammo first hand and it works...works good! I know I want what is going to work the best and I carry the 9mm.

Any info about .40 comparing to those?

We can carry almost anything we want in 9/40/45, and over half our officers are carrying G21. Another 25% are carrying .45 1911's, HK's etc. So, 75% .45 at least.

We can only carry 9mm or 45acp. Don't have any info on the 40.

Update: OCSD .40 Glock 22 and Federal 180g HST--issued. Optional--9mm 147g HST and .45 230g HST. Rounds issued for the 9 and 45 as well but BYOG, many makes and models ok'd.

Eureka PD requires that a Glock 22 is carried. No options. Being a G23, .40 S&W is of course the caliber.
