Yea. They think they don’t need a license, registration, insurance etc... because they’re “traveling.” They get cited/vehicle towed if applicable and are sent on foot “traveling.”

Many times. The contacts ranged from a bit of mild questioning of authority to full blown "I'm not driving I'm traveling" and "Who is the injured party and did they sign a complaint" with no cooperation and complete stupidity.

Agreed with the above. The less knowledgeable ones or the ones that have felt what it’s like to be on the receiving end are bearable. Then there are the believers that just make you want to throat punch them.

The need for that kind of restraint is what discouraged me from pursuing a career in LE... I have no idea how you all suffer all the fools so well!

The need for that kind of restraint is why I'm glad I'm out of it.

People like this make me really appreciate how much bs officers have to deal with on a daily basis.

Urban legends are a poor basis for making public policy.

What was it like? What happened?
Yes, I have, about ten years ago. The word was never take your anything from them or give them your name because they would look you up, and put liens on all your property and belongings. That has changed and we are now protected, but it effected quite a few LEO’s and government officials.

It will come rather quickly; in 1998 I was a rookie, and now I am three years from being eligible to retire. Enjoy the ride

The sovereign citizen people is mostly about them not wanting to pay taxes. The ideology part wouldn't exist without belief that they don't have to pay taxes. It's 95% about the money.

I don't like paying fuc&ing taxes either, especially when you read about this sh1t:

91 corporations did not pay federal income taxes on their 2018 U.S. income. Read the follow-up report released in December 2019,…

IMO complete bullsh1t that the middle class (most of us) are footing the bills for basically every fuc&ing thing!

(ETA - just to be clear, I don't side with or support sovcit and I do pay my taxes, I'm just not happy about it - and don't get me started on inheritance taxes!)
