I ended up buying a Klarus xt11. It was $89 on Amazon. So far I’m very happy with the purchase. Super bright 3200 lumens and much smaller than the light I was using. We have outlets in our lockers so I just leave it charging between shifts. I really like that the strobe feature is a separate button so I don’t have to cycle through it.

Sweet, good buy. I used the XT11 until i convinced myself to buy the latest and greatest. Enjoy!

I use a bianchi flashlight holder for a 1 inch flashlight next to my radio, never had a retention issue and it's a nice low profile holder

12,000 lumens? Pretty sure that'd double as a use of force!

I do not own one, but I like the new Fenix PD36R that is USB C rechargeable. Why- you can get 4 hours medium run time in a 10 minute charge. For a heavy user in and out of a police car, that would be a nice feature to have.

                  Stinger DS (regular lumens
) for daily use/traffic stops. Bright enough and will last a couple shifts before needing to be charged.

Just wanted to say thanks for the recommendation on the Klarus. I have been using the XT11 with great success. My dept issues a stream light and everyone is always jealous when I throw mine on. I liked it so much I stepped my game up to the XT 21 which is a little bigger but still manageable. At 4000 lumens it’s quite the light.

It lights up a whole backyard. We have some rural OC areas and it comes in quite handy.

I have since upgraded to the XT21 which is a little bigger but still very convenient. I highly recommend this brand of flashlights. The only downside is the run time. I have to charge it between every shift.

Another downside, it’s so powerful I now clear houses and buildings with it instead of my weapon light because it makes my surefire x300 look like a medieval candle. Just thought I’d bring this thread back to life and give an update. Maybe this thread should be considered for a sticky/permanent thread? Flashlights will always be a vital piece of equipment for cops.

Outstanding. Glad the Klarus is working for you. I've been using the Klarus brand light on patrol for many years now and it's always far exceeded my needs and it's put up with a lot of abuse.

Modlite PLH. If your life is on the line, you want a light that can own everything.

While I’ve been very happy with my Streamlights and my one handheld Surefire, I was introduced to Nightsticks. They’re copycat Streamlights, equally as durable, a little cheaper, and have some pretty awesome customer service.

When I say they’re copycat Streamlights, they’re literally identical with some modifications here and there, many of which are better. Their TLR1 copy cat has independent switches rather than a rocker switch. Both left and right handed shooters will press down for momentary and up for constant on, whereas the TLR1 is opposite for lefties. Just throwing out another brand.

Thanks for the heads up esy! They look pretty interesting.

As I was surfing the Nightsticks, I came across the OLIGHT PL-Pro Valkyrie - $130 on Amazon, 1500 lumens, rechargeable, pretty impressive on paper!
