    Oh man, that's gotta hurt. Just standing there minding your own business, then SURPISE!! SUV coming to say hi! Good thing he was wearing his helmet, I bet the water landing helped too instead of hitting the road

      P1 = Party #1, the one considered most at-fault.

      Like to see that triple-nickel (CHP 555; T/C report).

      Yeah, ouch!

        I like how the mayor tries to spin it in his statement.

        "I was a motorcycle officer with Inglewood Police and was hit twice by cars myself, it is a dangerous job"

        How about take some responsibility for your own actions Mr Mayor instead of blaming his injuries on his "dangerous job"?

          Butts. How fitting.

          Glad the officer is going to be ok.

            That was the guy on TV commenting, not the mayor that was in the collision.

              But it was the mayor in the collision who said it originally in a statement:

              The mayor of Inglewood, California, is counting his blessings after a horrifying car crash on Tuesday sent his SUV hurtling into a police officer.

              “I am thankful the occupants of the other vehicle were uninjured," Butts said in a statement Wednesday. "I am thankful that the Motorcycle Officer is expected to make a full recovery. He has been on my mind and heart since the accident.

              "I was a Motorcycle officer with Inglewood Police and was hit twice by cars myself," he added. "It is a dangerous job. I was so grateful to see that he was alert and communicative at the scene. I pray for his speedy recovery."

                The story said he was at a red and made a left, while the reporter in the video said he made a right and the light was red. It would be nice if the reporter and her station really checked their story prior to putting it out there.

                    Someone's going to get paid to settle out of court. Sad the taxpayers of Inglewood will be footing the bill for the mayor's 21453c violation...

                          Possibly the biggest bane for motorcyclists is the car turning left in front of them. Here you have a car (SUV) turning left but the motorcyclist was just parked on the side of the road, minding his own business, And He Still Got Hit! Sometimes you just can't win... Wishing that sarge a full and speedy recovery!

                              Exactly. Four wheels and air conditioning win every time......
