    equipment changes

Do you guys notice any trends or changes to the gear that your department is purchasing. I've noticed a good thing that a lot of LEO are now carrying cat tourniquets. Are departments in California now adding optics like the aimpoint arco on the duty guns? Do your department use safariland holsters and surefire x300s?

    Tourniquets yes.

That is the only recent change.

    Plate carriers before that.

Other than that just more deescalation training

2nd on the deescalatiob training. Hopefully more of it will come into play rather than changing 835a.

I wonder if on the patrol side the troops are NOT carrying any more empty dime baggies to collect the evidence, since dope is basically a misdemeanor now in this state.

We no longer field test any dope due to the fentanyl epidemic. Even for sales cases (absent something else), we 849 the suspect and wait for lab results.
