Any of you SoCal officers have any information regarding CCW at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium?

I will be heading down there for an event and was wondering if and what they have in terms of security or CCW protocols.

Because the Pasadena Civic Auditorium may have it's own set of rules or regulations regarding CCW within it's facility.

Trying to get a definitive answer.

I put in a call to the Civic Auditorium folks and just waiting for a reply.
Also put in a call to the Pasadena PD. Hopefully, they will have some information.

Each makes his own decision in this regard. Tho I don't like not having it when I travel, I do not feel comfortable leaving it in the car, locked box or not. Especially if the neighborhood is sketchy (I don't know if the area you're going to OP is). USC is one location I would be really concerned about leaving a gun in the car.

Years ago I attended a concert at the old Irvine Amphitheater with some tickets I won. I discovered when I got there I couldn't bring it in and they had no gun lockers. I had to leave it in our vehicle if we wanted to enter. I did, but I was thinking about it throughout the concert and couldn't enjoy it as much. This was back in 90s when I was still active and I didn't call ahead of time because I didn't even think le wouldn't be allowed to bring it in. My fault in that regard.

I agree, it makes me sick thinking about my gun in the car. However what I did, I welded up a lock box and mounted it to the floor under the spare tire in the trunk. There’s no getting to the gun without 1) stealing the entire car or, 2) using power tools to crack it open. For me, it beats leaving the gun at home for the road trip all together. Plus with the keyless cars now (if you have one), it’s slightly more difficult to start since there’s no ignition on the steering column any longer, hence the screwdriver “skeleton key” won’t work.

I do understand that most people don’t have a metal fabricating shop handy in their garage like I do. But.... there are other options. They do make some descent quality low profile gun lock boxes for cars that mount on floor boards under seats and out of view. They also make them for the trunk in areas under or near spare tires which can also be mounted with cables or bolts through the floor and out of immediate sight. It’s all in an effort to keep someone from just grabbing the box and running off with it. I also carry a “less important” gun that I may loose while locked up. In that case, the gun I carry is one I can replace for less money and won’t be too sad if I never get it back.

It’s just what I do. Everyone’s mileage may vary.

ps. You get what you pay for when buying a security box for the vehicle too. That’s something I wouldn’t go “cheap” on if I couldn’t build my own.

Do you have to remove the spare tire each time you want access to the lock box?
