    Sergeant Ron Helus EOW 11-08-18

Another hero gone but not forgotten. My department is currently assembling an honor guard detail to send should the service be open.

    Rest in Peace

Sergeant Ron Helus was shot and killed at 11:20 p.m. after responding to an active shooter at a bar at 99 Rolling Oaks Drive in Thousand Oaks.

God Bless, Brother, you did it right.

Thank you Sergeant Helus for your bravery.
You are a hero in my book.

Cinnamon, I'm sure there are many Simi / Ventura / SFV CalGunners who would like to attend the service or participate in showing our respect in some way.
Please keep us posted if there is an opportunity to do so.

There is an as5hole on here named Caligula that said the officers stayed outside. RIP to the sergeant. He and the chp officer were the only ones with the balls to run to the sound of gunfire.

Less than a year to go before retirement; sounds like he called his wife on the way to the call (he was thinking things were gonna get ugly I guess), first through the door... Sounds like the guy I'd want to work for. Broward County could have used someone like him.

                              RIP, Sarge
