There is also a short written excerise before my oral board that I am trying to find some info on but can not find any for my agency. I'll just have to do the best I can. Once again thanks to all and wish me luck!!
Don't overthink it. One of the hardest questions people have is the "why us?" If they ask this you should come up with something fairly compelling. Maybe you grew up in that area? Maybe you know many people at that department? Maybe it's an area you can see yourself settling down in, cheaper housing for example.

Lastly you seem motivated, which is good but don't put all your eggs in one basket. Apply to other agencies. It took me 8 applications to get 1 yes.

I actually did grow up in the area and that is one of the reasons why I chose this sheriffs office. I also chose this agency because I am familiar with them and often see them patrolling my neighborhood. I had many interactions with them growing up. Some positive and some negative. This made me think, how can one complain about how police handle situations with out willing to make the situation better myself. I am by no means trying to change the world. My thinking is that if I can have atleast one positive interaction with the community per day, I can help change the negative perception.

I am very motivated and if I do not get an offer with them, I will use this as a learning experience towards applying at other agencies. I am looking forward to this journey. I cant wait to proudly wear the badge and uniform. I will be representing my family, community, and country. Will be the proudest day of my life

So today I had my first panel interview. Hard to tell if I did well or not. I have mix feelings on it all. Overall I think it went well. I will have to wait about a week to hear back so fingers crossed.
