K9 take downs

This one from Santa Ana PD is awesome..

This one from Florida is a little confusing. To me, it seems the dog lost some of his fight/was tired out/wasn't sure what to do without his handler supporting him? That deputy gets an A+ for looking out for his partner and making that POS run in cuffs with him to go find the K9. Thoughts?

Okay, I'll errr.. bite.
The Florida dog did a great job apprehending the fleeing suspect. He was working a great distance away from his handler and still engaging the suspect. It obviously did not go down as the deputy thought it would, but he thought on his feet and prevailed. In hind sight he may have wished he's thrown the passenger in his unit and driven after the dog(?)
