    Private Security Side Gig

Any LEOs here working as private security on the side? Going through the process now. Detail is suit and tie, armed. What do you guys carry other than your piece? Do you go minimal or full retard?

Way back when, when I was doing some EP work for tech executive's in the Bay Area, it really depending on the gig as to what all I carried. More often then not it was just gun, mags, and flex cuff's.

I did. Do not let part time money screw up your career/day job. Armed suit and tie and you think its on the up and up. But rich people think they bought protection because they hire you.

I never had a bad client but I can tell you a dozen stories were the off duty cop got fired because is client wants to score some dope, hookers or hang out in a seedy/shady joint because he had protection.

        Be safe/smart my friend.

EP gigs can be all over the map in SoCal. Some 'employers' simply want a rent-a-thug that packs heat. Obviously you don't want to be anywhere near that. A 'real' employer will have much more respect for you when you offer advice about the pros and cons of their destinations.

Pistol, flex cuffs and a small flashlight. Anything more than that, your probably not being paid enough!

IMO a IFAK is a no brainer. At least have it nearby, if not for your client for yourself.
