WTT/WTB Law Enforcement (maybe some military) Challenge Coins and/or Memorabilia

I'm not sure if I'm the only nerd out here that collects these Law Enforcement challenge coins. If anyone else out there is interested in trading or selling one or more of their departmental or duplicate challenge coins, I have some extras from my department and a few duplicates of others that I'm interested in trading.

Some guys collect the department shoulder patches too but those don't really interest me unless they're really unique. I have a few patches I'd let loose of as well for anyone that collects those. Thanks in advance for any horse trading that commences!

That’s a nice collection! I collect challenge coins too, but I only get one, so no doubles. If I come across some more, I’ll keep you in mind.

No body I know who has a challenge coin would ever be willing to trade one. That's kind of the whole point of them, to challenge those they don't know, who claim membership on a former team. And to get drinks from those members who forgot theirs when "challenged". IMHO, If you're not a bonafide coin holder, you shouldn't have one, period. I have a couple myself, but YMMV.

That is a nice collection! If I had any duplicates, I'd be happy to share. But all the ones I have were from being "coined" in the .mil or as an LEO and thus irreplaceable.

Best of luck in the search!

You think that's nerdy?! I'm way more nerdy/geeky than that. Hahhaha.

No, but seriously, I am. Wife and I are HUGE Disney geeks, like Annual Passholder fans. I'm a big Star Wars, Doctor Who, Stranger Things, insert other weird, sci-fi geeky stuff fan, plus a tacticool, martial artsy kind of guy. It's a strange yet fun combo. Haha.

The fact that I am a member of the Honor Guard for my department has afforded me the opportunity to work with many other departments with Honor Guard teams from all over the nation. Just about all HG teams have a coin and thus the coining from so many other departments. Often multiple times over the years. It's unfortunate but an honor to support my fellow LEO's when they experience an LODD in their department. Our last LODD was in 2011 and occurred 3 months after I was recruited to the team. It was my first detail and it made a huge impact on me and my desire to honor those who gave all. Of course there have been coins from annual memorial events as well, that are less somber and some that are even celebratory.

Maybe Washington State LE is just more into the challenge coin culture than others. Most departments, police, sheriff, corrections, border patrol even fire departments have a coin to issue to those that support each other.

At any rate, I do understand the sacred meaning of being coined, as many of you have conveyed above, but it still means alot to me when I'm able to swap my departmental coin with someone else. It's a bond we all share and a way of showing that you can count on my support when in need, whether I've ever met you or not.

My most prized coin is when I drove a mission with Col. Mark Milley in Iraq - was assigned to his PSD team. It even trumps an SF coin I got for the first wave in Iraq in Kirkuk.

Collecting coins are awesome! Nice Collection!
