Apparently he was involved in a TC this weekend. He exited his vehicle and the other driver struck him. The deputy died tonight.

Minor collision in San Bernardino. When he was talking to the other driver, who is a black gang member from San Bernardino, he was attacked by the other driver and apparently rendered unconscious. As he lay on the ground helpless, he was beaten savagely by the thug. Thug is in custody.
Larry was taken off life support at about 8pm tonight and pronounced deceased at 8:11pm. He was a 36 year member of the San Bernardino County SD and also an Army Vietnam Veteran.
RIP Larry, you were a good man and I was glad to have known and worked with you. Godspeed.
