    Four threads down.

Like it has been for a while, it seems to be dependent on the seller.

LEO exemptions allow for it. [PC 30312(c)(2) & 30314(b)(2)]

But, unknown if out-of-state vendors will honor it.
      ^Some will and some won't.

You need to contact the out-of-state vendor you want to acquire from and find out if their policy will allow it.

SGAMMO announced on their Email that they will still send ammo to LEOs if you provide LEO ID and another state ID.

            This is the latest.

If you have trouble viewing this email you can see the newsletter in your browser at this link : California Ammo Sales Deadline and Future Policy Clarification

Due to recent laws passed in CA there will be heavy restrictions on sales of ammunition starting January 1st, 2018 which will make getting ammunition very difficult for most clients. We read this law in detail and the law requires that delivery be made by Dec 31st 2017. To meet the delivery deadline in compliance with the law we will accept orders from all CA clients until 2pm PST December 21st, which will allow delivery via UPS to all parts of CA by the 31st. After that point we will require clients in CA to upload a picture of the FFL of the dealer that will receive and transfer the ammo, or a C&R type FFL and COE from the state, or a law enforcement ID in conjunction with another state ID. The shipping address must match the address shown on the documents / IDs. Due to many questions about the process for uploading such documentation we wanted clarify the process. After 2pm PST December 21st we will change the requirements to complete checkout to place an order that is shipping to California, and in the checkout form there will be a section marked 'other order information' that appears when California is selected as the ship-to state. In that section there will be a data field to upload a single picture of the documentation that is required for exemption. Exemptions that require multiple documents must be taken together in one picture. The picture must be clear, in file type of jpeg, png or gif, and not an excessively large file, file size limit of 1MB. PDF files will not work for this. If you have problems uploading your picture please email the picture to us and we can help format it if needed at that time and email it back so you can use it in checkout. This upload needs to be done just once, provided you log into your account before you checkout again you can reuse the image that you uploaded with the previous order as long as the shipping address remains the same.

Below is a link to the full details of the law and a portion of the law that states delivery must be made before the end of the year.

            (b) Commencing January 1, 2018, the sale, delivery, or transfer of ownership of ammunition by any party may only occur in a face-to-face transaction with the seller, deliverer, or transferor, provided, however, that ammunition may be purchased or acquired over the Internet or through other means of remote ordering if a licensed ammunition vendor initially receives the ammunition and processes the transaction in compliance with this section...

For everyone that does not qualify or does not want to deal with the hassle it would be very wise to stock up while it is still easy. If I were a Californian I would be looking to stock up on ammo before the deadline, and the items listed below would be my choices for bulk ammo considering both good value and quality. I would also advise clients to look at their needs for less common calibers that could be harder to find once the law kicks in.
