OC Instructor Course

I am going to an OC Instructor course run by Safariland next week. Anybody got some good advice?

I think he means OC like the spray, not an instructor course in Orange County. He likely not need any mags.

I went thru an OC instructor course twice and a chemical agents instructor course once.

Bring extra clothing as you will get wet decontaminating.
I always volunteer to go first to get sprayed or gased. Dont assume that I am a badass, because I not. I am more logical. If you go first, you get first dibs at the water hoses and fans. If you are in the middle or the end, you may have 5 or 6 people fighting over the one hose or fan. It is alot better to enjoy that water hose before the rush of burning coppers.

Don't go! Lol... It was the worst course I ever attended. I would rather be Tased a dozen times in a row than get OC'd.

Just remember when you shower after the class to lean forward and wash your hair first. You don't want that soap and water to go down your body..
You'll end up with the OC heat someplace special and you will curse like there is no tomorrow.
Just remember baby shampoo works wonders.. No more tears kind..

Thanks for all the responses. I'll definitely bring the extra clothes and buy some baby shampoo for the final decon. The course description also stated we need safety glasses.

@rover60 - no time to purchase the Sudacon wipes, unless y'all know of somewhere I can purchase them from a brick and mortar store (you know, a retail location). I'm going to be in the Las Vegas area before the course, visiting my ailing mother.

@the42cop - my brother in law said the same thing about Tasing versus OC, said he'd rather get Tasered any day over OC....

Check with some of the police supply stores in LV.
I'm sure you can also get the stuff shipped pretty quick..

Good Luck and remember to keep your mouth closed when sprayed.. it does not taste like it's namesake.

Oh, the instructors love those guys that try to close their mouth. They will make you sound off with your name or badge number and drown your mouth with oc when your talking. Just volunteer to go first and do it. Lol. Enjoy the burn.
