Because it isn't said often enough

I just want to take a moment offer a no strings attached just because, thank you to all of the LEO (and if there are any) fellow security in here for everything you do.

There are still those of us who know that anytime you have to strap on a vest and a gun to do a job it's not just a job.

All of you stay safe out there.

It often occurs to me that people all across America can sleep more soundly because of our law-enforcement personnel.

Are they human, with all the pluses and minuses that that entails?
Yes.

But can you imagine the zoo that would open up every night,
if they were not out there risking their lives.

And this is being said from someone who has seen and experienced a few bad law enforcement personnel abusing their power of authority (way back in the day when they were probably given more leeway to do what they thought was right and less training on our rights.)

My sincere thanks to all of you who are trying to do a hard job.

( A "Everyone knows we need rules but no one wants the rules to apply to them"... Type of hard job.)

I have seen the zoo that comes around when a police department has a funding cut and can only afford to deal with only the serious calls.

I am extremely thankful that when I take off my duty belt and lay down for bed I know someone else is out there keeping things from getting too far out of hand.
