    Department Facebook Pages

This is actually a legal question that I probably need to take to my union rep, but I'm hoping this has come up with other CGN LEOs who might be able to point me in the direction of some source documents.

My agency launched a public Facebook page and on the main profile page is the annual Department Photo, showing the likeness of every officer who works for the department. I don't publicly promote the fact that I'm an LEO. I'm all about being the Grayman. Even on my personal FB page it doesn't say where I work.

To my knowledge, I never signed any agreement that my employer can use my likeness for the public promotion of the department. All I want is for them to black out my face from the photo, but I don't know if I'm in the right to make such a request. If there is case law that either supports or refutes my exception to the publication of my likeness without my permission, I'd like to know before I bring it up to admin.

Anyone know any case law regarding the use of public employees likenesses without their permission?

Thanks in advance for your consideration.
