I use two of the single bianchi accumold closed top cuff cases. I suppose it really depends on if the department or company a given person is with wants nylon or leather.

I like the closed top because if I make a mistake and let someone get in close on me, they arnt going to use my cuffs as a bashing weapon on me.

I've been toying with the idea of swapping to a double but it will just depends on how everything sorts out when I reconfigure my duty belt next. Truthfully I like having them separate but realestate on my belt is becoming a problem.

I use a bianchi double cuff case in nylon.

Bianchi double, I'm thinking of going to a single though and moving it to my right side behind my gun. Does anyone here carry only one set of cuffs on patrol?

5.11 double when I'm wearing the outer carrier but I switch back and forth to give the shoulders / upper back anrest every now and then.

I carry two of the bianchi singles. One on either side of my glove pouch which is at the center of my back. I'm swapping to a new beat in a month and at that time I'm going to need to reconfigure my duty belt. Depending on how ugly the area is I might drop down to one single and just keep the spare in my go bag.

I was thinking about a double...do you like the double or is it a waste?

I've always used a double because of limited real estate on my belt. I also don't like the idea of having two different places to grab at for cuffs if I'm fighting with someone.

I don't feel the double is a waste, it is nice as well to have two cuffs in the same spot. When I wear a duty belt I want to move my taser further forward toward my midline which is why I want to move to a single cuff case on my right behind my gun or two on my back. I'm pretty scrawny, 31" waist so real estate is a premium. I'm also not sure how two would feel on my back in the car.

The way I have mine set up I have my glove pouch center of my back. Cuff case to the left and right, belt keepers between on either side. I'll give you my thoughts on what I do and don't like about it. Bearing in mind I have some waist size on you.

Pros: balance, equal weight on my back, I can grab for cuffs with whichever hand is free. I'm left handed dominant but there is a semi amadextrious element to me so that might be why I don't mind having two places to look.

Cons: takes a lot of realestate on my belt but it's mostly back realestate, the one on the left side of my glove pouch is forever catching on the chair every time I climb into the Vic, that makes me absolutely crazy.

As far as sitting I like to be fairly upright I know a lot of guys like to do the gangster lean in their patrol car, I've found that if I scoot my backside to the back of the seat then it isn't uncomfortable... The single cases stick out a lot less and with one on esither side you are balanced in the chair.

I'm going to be adding a lot of stuff to my belt soon and realestate is going to become an issue for me I think and that is likely to really inform what changes I make but all in all it's not bad. I'm a lefty and id hate to have my left hand or arm engaged with a suspect and not be able to reach my cuffs. Where I work we fly solo unless something major is going on so whatever I do I have to be able to plan to do it alone if need be.

My double cuff case is right up front near my buckle. Mags are on the left side of the buckle, cuffs are on the right. Easy to reach with both hands and doesn't get in the way.
