For the shorter smaller frame folks. I am in need of some recommendations based off personal experience.

I am looking for a tactical vest similar to the 5.11 VTAC LBE tactical vest which I currently have in size Regular and I swim in it even with it tightened all the way.

I can't be the only person having this problem.

The only thing I can suggest is doing some research into Asian manufacturers/retail products. We have one female officer who is particularly small statured and most of her uniform has to be ordered in the Asian sizes.

will be in 'big kid' sizes and cheap, in both price and quality.

but unless you are going to the sharp shale mountains of the Afghan War for a year and expect to fall down amide sharp rock slides daily, should be fine.

I have a Shellback Tactical Vest with soft plates. It was inexpensive and very well made. It is by no means a huge vest and seems to be cut a bit on the small side, although adjustable.

Grey ghost minimalist carrier sits just around rib cage area. Or try ar500 micro plate carrier. James Yeager did a review on it. Very small it's almost funny.
