    AK and AR Pistols

Can LEO's still purchase AK and AR pistol's in 2017?

I bought some in 2016 and was looking to buy more in 2017, but am a bit confused with the current state of CA laws atm since it seem's they are being challenged in court and all.

    Thanks.

Yes, as long as they are CA legal.

CA legal for semi-auto AR/AK pistol means, they need to operate using a fixed 10 or less round magazine.
In order to be considered a fixed magazine, the magazine needs to be installed in such a manner that it can not be removed without disassembling the firearm's action or the magazine needs to be welded/epoxied/riveted into the firearm's magazine well.

CA legal for manually operated (straight pull bolt-action) AR/AK pistol means there is no gas piston/tube installed and the gas block is plugged or welded closed.
As a manually operated pistol, it can legally use detachable magazines.
