    Stolen truck

A neibhor of mine asked if I could spread the word some about this. Last night between 10pm-2am someone stole my neibhors truck. Not really too too sure if this is ever done here but I figured I would give it a try who knows maybe one of you happen to spot it.

    Stolen out of Riverside (city)

The truck is a 2005 Silverado crew cab. Color code pewter, (looks tan to me)

    lic# 7U54450

Identifying factors: missing the tailgate handle cover & has a light hanging from front left bumper (fog light)

If this is a forum taboo, let me know and I'll ask for it to be deleted. He's a nice older retired guy with a military background so I figured I would try to do him a solid by spreading the word.

IF they filed a stolen vehicle report, the information will be in JDIC. If any officer ever runs the plate, they will know.

Maybe members on this forum can also write down the info and keep it in their posse box.

Bit of an update on this thread. The vehicle was recovered recently in Victorville with everything of value stripped out of it

They practically sucked the chrome off the bumpers.

      Insurance has totalled it out.

Bummer; but sometimes its better when they are totalled out. Hopefully that is the case here

Yeah they totalled it out. He's telling me he's sorta coming out ahead on the situation so it works out I suppose.

I drive a much newer version of the same truck, let them come for mine, I have cameras.

That's good because you'll have video of them before they do the same to your truck. If they are any good they will see the cameras and nothing revealing will be picked up. You might also consider getting a system installed that one, will disable your vehicle automatically each time you turn it off.

If you get Mobile Guardian, you can not only disable it remotely so it can't be restarted once the engine is off, you can track it in real time via computer and advise le where it is while speaking with them. The bad guys may know about both systems, but from what I was told about the latter, (which came with our then new car, the device is put in a very hard spot to get to. Thankfully we have yet to use it tho I've checked it out on my computer. I consider it better than LoJack. We used to get a lot of false positives on the equipment in our radio cars, tho I will grant the tech may be better now.
