Tourrniquets for Heroes

Hey guys, I did a search and also went back 10 pages and didn't see anything about this.

I was browsing REFactor Tactical's site and found a pretty cool program. Customers can buy RATS tourniquets and they'll be shipped directly to LEO's that sign up with them.

I'm gonna buy a few with my next order and just thought it'd be pretty cool if they (not likely, I know) went to a fellow calgunner. Just a way for someone like me to say thanks to you guys for the work you do.

I've trained with the North American Rescue CAT tourniquets and as a result I've gone with those. Those RAT tourniquets get a bad rap. The instructors at a course I took laughed them off and I've read lots of debate where it seems that the RAT isn't preferred due to some nerve damage due to it being so thin or something like that. If I was in a spot and had only a RAT I'd use it. I've read up and don't think I'd go out of my way to buy one of those based on a class I took and some stuff I've read. Plus there are some false claims that the RAT meets some criteria that it apparently doesn't. Don't want to take chances with a lifesaving device should I need said lifesaving device.

This is my preferred one. They are the best in my opinion. CATs are ok as well but the SOF-T's are the best.

I have SOF tourniquets but the RAT would probably be better than a boot lace in a bad situation. Still, nice gesture by the company for sure

I carry a CAT, we are at some point supposed to be issued SWAT-T's. A classmate of mine swore by the RAT but a training captain I spoke with from county fire described it as a ligature if applied incorrectly. Definitely a nice gesture by the company though.
