States that require advanced police academy?

Hey everyone, I was writing a post about the advanced post academy that CA makes officers undergo at around the 5-7 year mark, when I discovered they no longer do so. I remember there being an "advanced" academy requirement when I was in the basic academy in 1999-2000, but I guess that has gone the way of the dodo bird sometime since then. I have been working in another state that has no real continuing education requirements other than 16 hours of in-service training every year.

I'm trying to research any states that require similar training later on in your career and was hoping somebody out there has heard of a state that still does this? Thanks!

It's not so much that you go through an advanced academy, it's that after you have enough time on the job, training and education, your POST certificate "becomes" advanced.

POST requires so many hours of advanced officer training every 2? years but that can consist of any post certified courses. There was no advanced academy requirement during my time on the job which covered the years you listed and 10 years before and after.
