Probation Officer Exempt?

I just realized my cousin is considered a sworn in peace officer for Los Angeles. Does this qualify for him to buy off roster handguns and not deal with the 10day wait period?

No LEO is exempt from the ten day wait unless they have a letter from the Chief Law Enforcement officer of their agency, for the specific purchase. PC26950(b)(1)

And sworn members of a county probation dept who have completed a POST 832 firearms training course are now roster exempt BUT they *cannot* sell or transfer their roster exempt guns to anyone who is not roster exempt.

So your cousin might be roster exempt, but he likely will wait ten days, and he cannot transfer via FFL any off roster guns he gets through the new exemption to anyone who is not LEO.
