    LE Remington 870 Armorer Course

My Sgt wants me to get certified on the 870 but i'm having a tough time locating a course within reason in CA. We use 870's as less lethals and currently only one of the range staff is certified. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Looks like there is one in San Diego in May.

Edit: That is an 870 course.

PS - Does everyone at work know you go by "Cinnamon Bear"?

Nope. I keep it on lock down. They have other nick names for me around the station.

Remington factory armorer school is good. If not, Lassen College in Susanville has a one week LE armorer school in the summer. It is a decent school, also. It is cheaper than factory school.

As much as I would like to do that, I don't think I'm gunna get approval to spend a week in susanville. I don't see that school request making it through admin.

I wonder why. It is a POST approved class. I used to go almost every year for various classes.

The "factory school" refers to the courses offer at the factory in Il. You want to look at the field courses. Those are the ones hosted by local agencies.

If you don't need a "factory" cert per your policy, Escondido PD offers a 1 wk POST approved course on multiple weapons.

I was told POST doesn't reimburse classes anymore so the dept would eat the cost
