Here's to hoping you have good credit.
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

Honesty! If you lie, you die as they say.

Just realize that your background investigator will know more about you than probably anyone else in the world by the time the process is over.

"The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich quick theory of life." - Theodore Roosevelt

This^^^^^applies everywhere. My nephew is a background investigator for the OCSD, he says they have 300 openings. I'm retired from the OCSD, it's a good department. Another nephew works gangs with LAPD and loves it. Good luck!

Any type of criminal record, bad credit, will not go well. They might interview friends, relatives and neighbors to get an idea of what you are like.

I know a Sergeant, that when he was going thru his background, they found out he owned Nazi proofed firearms. They told him it was wise to sell them. He told me he did.

That may be an extreme case. First time I heard something like that. I wonder how they knew about what country proofed the firearm. Maybe, they knew where it was made and didn't like it.

But, they will contact your neighbors for sure. Hope they say good things about you.

I am in the process and actually just had my initial background interview with LAPD a couple days ago. I found my initial interview to be relatively painless.

Just make sure your PHS is complete and detailed. (dates to your best approximation, number of times you did something, how much money you spent etc) The worst thing you could do is second guess yourself. I was confident and consistent in my answers, and my interview was actually pretty painless.

Even though its not asked on the PHS, they will want to know the age of your references, and if any of them are LEO's.

If you have any questions for someone who just went through it, feel free to shoot me a PM
