It's not your monkey and not your circus-

You have nothing to gain and only stuff to lose when you engage crazy

You break your hands, watches, tear / ruin your clothes for what... a nut job being chased by the door man or bartender....

Unless they are threatening someone's well being, I would stay out of it.

The guy could be known to the bar staff as a violent methhead or an autistic, odd, strange and harmless person.

You crack the pool cue over their head- you are more likely to end up in cuffs in a SF jail cell for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
SpotOn!!! Its a freeking Misd.!!! Walk away. Your in plain clothes. Try and play hero and alls you get is jammed up! Be a good witness--Thas it!!!

Thank God Im retired, Because I'd be Fired if I was still on the job!!!

      +1 pure gold up there.

OP evacuated loved ones out of the combat zone and was a good witness [I do not know why to re-enter the zone if everything you care about [wife and friends] is now clear?].

Realize that a pool ball can be used effectively as a sap/rock.

Just saw this on Active Self Protection youtube channel:

3rd party intervenes in fight, one of the fighters grabs a cue and impales the guy in the eye socket, killing him...

I was just going to post this. Pretty intense. Kudos to John at Active Self Protection for keeping those videos coming with excellent commentary and training advice.

Best advice is that was not your dog. However, glad you jumped in at the time and manner that you did. Probably the right thing to do morally.

At first read, I thought this was a 45ACP thread !!! Lol!!!

As soon as you described the guy I immediately though of gavin newsome.
The nicest, most polite people I have ever met have been at gun shows, shooting ranges and church.
