    Five Post OIS considerations

Planning for the post shooting is just as important as surviving the gunfight. Here are a few factors to consider when planning for that ultimate worst case scenario:

    Paraphrasing the article:

    1. You are the homicide suspect. Detectives determine if it is a justified homicide (separate from your statements).
    2. Wear undergarments (shirt and shorts) that a jury would/could see.
    3. Have a change of clothes including shoes.
    4. Have predetermined advocates ("shooting buddy") to liaison on your behalf. Suggestion is made that this be an agent of your attorney thus covered by attorney-client privilege.
    5. Have a de-stress plan while you are on leave (exercise, hobbies etc.)

I instruct it if you shoot it.

Also remember to have a point of contact person. Someone that you trust to reach out to family and friends to let them know you're OK. So that your family and friends know what to make of the ever so cryptic, "I'm ok." Text

Since you'll be sequestered and largely left in a vacuum.

Good idea! Waaay better than trying to field all those individual messages from people! Love it.
