    Is there anything wrong here?

I recently had to listen to the rant of San Francisco resident about several issues, one of which they thought was proof positive of what thugs made up the SFPD. The basic facts are that someone in the alley behind her home was screaming in the night, "I am going to F... you up". The resident went out and yelled through the fence that they should knock it off or they would call the police, to which they got the response, "I am the police".

The area is right off of Mission and that alley is frequented by some innocent and some not so innocent homeless people. The resident knows nothing about just what was going on in the alley or why SFPD was there. I am thinking an officer may have resorted to such talk in order to avoid having to resort to force. Am I far off?

Could it have been an impersonator?

I know some SFPD through some relatives. Far from thugs. If you hear the stories of what they have to out up with and the stuff they get into on a daily basis thanks to the liberal gov't.... you would be sympathetic to them as they are not thugs.

But since homeless people are crazy.... I'm sure it was two homeless in an altercation... and it was a homeless guy saying he was the police.

If they can make an uncooperative subject become cooperative by using mean words instead of using physical force; It seems like a good thing to me.

So someone says "I am the police" and without any confirmation it's just assumed that the person was in fact SFPD? The resident in your story doesn't know what was going on or why the police were there, (if they actually were) but jumps to the conclusion that all SFPD officer's are thugs. Typical SF resident who has no clue what's going on but it has to be the PD's fault.

I'm positive that everyone here can relate stories of people who when you try to be calm and nice to diffuse a situation, only get more and more angry. The second you crank it up a few notches things seem to resolve themselves.

This response covers it times a thousand! The other thing to consider is that we pretty well all have BWC (Body Worn Cameras) now, so the amount of rough talk has dwindled. If someone is going sideways then the likelihood of a BWC being on is very high; and most Officers are now under-reacting to threats so that they aren't seen as "thugs".

Police work is rough business, and this is typical of San Francisco residents; they want results but they really don't want to see it in process.

Douche SF resident hating on cops yet totally ready to call on them for support in the middle of the night because someone is being loud? Perhaps an illegal alien crackhead theif who their liberal *** voted to have released?

              Nope. Seems normal.

Thanks to all. Your input is basically what I thought and that the resident is all to ready to assume the worse of the SFPD. For all she knows the suspect may have been overdosed and a lone officer was attempting to assist the person.

Odds are greater it wasn't even a cop out there....
