Incorrect dros on ar pistol lower

So I picked up a new lower to replace my 80% on my AR pistol. Talked about it with my ffl and everything before hand. He even wrote down that it's a pistol. When I picked it up I look at the paperwork and he did the dros as a rifle. Is there anyway to go back and fix this? I picked it up on Dec 30th.

No once a rifle always a rifle. Did you buy a pistol lower? He should eat the lower and do another dros.

Kind of late now since it's past the 1st. I thought you could amend a dros within 60 days.

Should still be good to go to DROS another pistol lower as you could make it fixed mag and that wouldn't be an AW unless I am missing something.

I believe Franklin Armory said the DOJ said importing a AR pistol with their DFM mag was good to go for LE sales.

Either way I think that FFL owes you something for their error.

Something tells me the whole point of OP getting this in 2016 was to register as AW.

OP, are you roster exempt? If not, there is no way he could have Dros'd this as a pistol unless you got it via PPT or intra family out of state transfer.

Nope OP it can't be changed and you can't dros a pistol lower, only a complete pistol that has been constructed as compliant

I might do this. But it's already engraved and my understanding is you will have to get a DOJ assigned serial number. I guess I can just move.

Sounds like a good reason to finish and engrave another 80 to replicate the one you had, and then get DOJ numbers for the one you had during finished before. Then you'll have one fixed mag one, and one registered one. And new guns are always a plus!
